Haruka Nanami is a girl who attends a music school, passionate of becoming a song writer in order to one day compose a song for her idol, Hayato. During the entrance exam, she was late due to helping a little girl who was lost on the way to the exam venue, Saotome Academy. However, she was allowed to take the exam despite being late because of two people, Otoya Ittoki and Ren Jinguji. She passed the exam and is roommates with a person she met during the exam, Tomochika Shibuya. After meeting her teacher and other people from her class, she met others from the S Class. Tomochika and Haruka were unpacking when Haruka's handkerchief was stolen by a cat. She found someone resembling Hayato while chasing the cat but found out he was Hayato's twin brother, Tokiya Ichinose.
02'Brand New Melody'July 10, 2011
All classes in Saotome Academy were assigned a project, to compose a new song with a partner; however, there is a twist: the idol group have to write the lyrics and the songwriter group have to write the music. Ringo Tsukimiya, Haruka's teacher, randomly chose the pairs for now. Haruka was partnered with Otoya Ittoki. Her teacher then asks her to play the most popular song from the previous year on the piano. However, Haruka could not read music and thus the students start spreading rumours. Otoya then comforts her and motivates her to study music. While she was doing that, Otoya had trouble writing lyrics and asked Tokiya for advice. As he didn't understand, he asked Syo, Natsuki, Ren and Masato for help. Neither succeeded on how to proceed. Haruka then hums a melody she thought of at the lake in the middle of the night where Otoya heard her and came up with lyrics on the spot. The two then progressed fast and their song was successful.
03'Knocking on the Mind'July 17, 2011
Both Haruka and Otoya passed the project, but now Haruka has to deal with the bullying from her classmates because they suspect that she cheated. When she is asked to play the piano again in front of the class, the comments finally get to her and she freezes up once again, making the situation worse. Masato Hijirikawa understands her troubles and helps her work through them.

She wonders why Tokiya is doing that kind of pretending when as Hayato, he is already popular and doesn't need to attend school. Meanwhile, as Tokiya, he is having troubles with his singing, and they described it as 'perfect', but without 'heart'. And as Hayato, his manager tells him he is better acting in dramas instead of singing.
08'Eternity Love'August 21, 2011
The Shining Academy students are in camp on the headmaster's private island. As other students are picking their partners for the final assessment, Haruka is afraid of asking Tokiya to be her partner after their previous tense conversation. On the beach, Otoya confesses to her that he loves her music and that he has chosen her as his desired partner. Around the island, Natsuki, Ren, Syo and Masato have each chosen a partner (whose name remains undisclosed but is indicated to be a female). In the middle of the night, a black cat (whom Haruka named Kuppuru) leads her to some ruins where she meets Cecil. Cecil says that he knows her, that they have met before and that he is a prince from a land farther west. He explains to her that his clan once lived here and that he is her protector. As he is speaking, she falls asleep and wakes up in her cottage, believing it all to be a dream until she sees the flower he gave her lying in her palm. She walks along the beach, meeting Tokiya there and he tells her a story of after he debuted and had an accident and what gave him hope, and Haruka begs him to sing which Tokiya agrees to, saying he will start again, and starts to warm up to her. At the end, Ren is waiting for her on the walkway with a flower and tells her that he wants her to be his partner.
09'Weaving Dreams'

Haruka is confronted by Otoya, who speaks out his desire to have her as his graduation audition partner. Later, she is also told by Ren the same thing that Otoya had said. Not so long after, Syo, Natsuki, and Masato do the same. Hesitant on whom to choose, Haruka asks for her teacher's advice. However, she is rejected, only to be told that another person wants her as his partner who is none other than Tokiya Ichinose. In this episode, Haruka is seen singing for the first time in the series.
10'Come On, Let's Sing!'September 4, 2011
Haruka became the topic of the school because of having six persons who listed her for the pairing. Later on she meets her teacher, Tsukimiya-sensei, and asks him for advice, while Haruka is still saying it he rejected it and said that if she drops out, the six boys who designated her as their partner would also be disqualified. Haruka can't sleep and decides to make a song that can be performed by six people. The next day, Otoya, Tokiya, Ren, Syo, Natsuki, and Masato were all called out by Haruka to the 3rd Music Room and Haruka told them that she just can't choose one because all of them helped her to get into the place where she is at. Some agree to it immediately while others are skeptical at first. In the end, they all come to terms and performed it in front of the Headmaster. The Headmaster named the song 'Maji Love 1000%' (Serious Love 1000%).
11'Map Of The Future'

Himura, Tokiya's manager learns that he's a student in Saotome Academy. He then increases Tokiya's workload to make him too busy to attend school. Meanwhile, Haruka and the other members begin working on a new song she wrote called 'Map of the Future.' Everyone noticed that Tokiya is always late for rehearsals because of his 'part-time job' but they don't have any idea what it is, except for Haruka. Working and attending school has started to take its toll on Tokiya and he ends up collapsing. He is confronted by the President of his company about his apparent 'betrayal' when he woke up. The thought of 'Hayato' leaving his company was too much for the President that he had collapsed in Tokiya's apartment. He was brought to the hospital and the two make amends. Tokiya told the President that from that moment on, he would live as Tokiya Ichinose. The President asked if it was because 'Hayato' was tired but Tokiya replied that he had just found hope. Tokiya rushes back to Saotome Academy and called Otoya but their call was cut short when his phone ran out of battery. His return will be delayed due to a landslide and will take him until morning.
12'The Heart of a Lost Child'

Paparazzi have infiltrated Saotome Academy and found out that Tokiya is really Hayato. Everyone is shocked by this revelation and struggle to make sense of it while eagerly awaiting Tokiya's return. Upon his arrival, Tokiya explained his reason for disguising himself as his own younger twin brother to everyone and humbly asked to be part of their group because just like all of them, he really wants to sing Haruka's songs. The Principal witnessed their new resolve as a group and announced their debut as the idol group 'ST☆RISH' to the media. Everyone was happy to finally get the chance to debut but the Principal told them that Haruka cannot write their debut song. The 'God of Composers' will be the one to write their debut song but everyone protested. In the end, the Principal discouraged Haruka by asking her if she can write a better song than the 'God of Composers'.
13'Serious Love 1000%'

The principal asked Haruka if she possesses the heart of a pro or if she was just a fan of ST☆RISH because she had stated earlier that she was just happy to hear them sing together. Haruka couldn't answer and everyone protested but the Principal would not hear any of it. Ren and the others threatened not to debut if Haruka won't be the one to write their debut song but she encouraged them not to waste the chance. Despite having said that, Haruka cannot accept the fact that she was cut off and suddenly went home to her grandmother in the country. There, her grandmother reminded her of her love for music and Haruka rediscovered her resolve. Before she was able to come back, ST☆RISH came to pick her up and they performed 'Map of The Future' for her and her grandmother. Haruka came in terms with her own feelings by declaring that she wants them to sing her songs, and the others declared that no one else can write for them but her. Delighted at Haruka's firm resolve, the Principal appeared and explained that he never really wanted to cut off Haruka from the debut but had to test her and teach her the importance of having the will to succeed as a pro. ST☆RISH makes their debut with Maji Love 1000%' (Serious Love 1000%), the first song that Haruka composed for them and the song that brought them all together. In the end they all say 'See you soon!'

ST☆RISH had a successful debut, and now they are professionals! It's time for the Master Course. Haruka Nanami moves to the dorms and meets up with her ST☆RISH colleagues. They eventually meet up at their large training room, where Haruka gives everyone an individual song. Suddenly, the Shining Saotome arrives and introduces QUARTET★NIGHT who perform the song 'Poison Kiss.' QUARTET★NIGHT become mentors to ST☆RISH . Reiji Kotobuki is assigned to Otoya Ittoki and Tokiya Ichinose, Ranmaru Kurosaki is assigned to Ren Jinguji and Masato Hijirikawa, and Ai Mikaze is assigned to Syo Kurusu and Natsuki Shinomiya. ST☆RISH learns that it won't be as easy as it seems, as they will be living with their superior mentors who have many rules for them. Meanwhile, Haruka finishes unpacking when she hears the black cat, Kuppuru. She is surprised and runs to find it, only to find Cecil. He greets her by kissing her on the hand and calls her 'my beloved princess.'
2'REINCARNATION of Love'

Haruka finds herself meeting once again Cecil, whom believes that Haruka is his savior and attempts to thank her with a kiss. Haruka wakes up back in her room and believes that her night with Cecil was all just a dream, but during her walk on the campus the next day, she hears a beautiful yet familiar voice. Meanwhile, ST☆RISH members also become aware of a melody being sung and see Haruka running towards the voice. The voice turns out to be from Cecil. Upon Haruka and Cecil's reunion, he tries to kiss her once again, but all his attempts are blocked by the bursts of jealousy from the ST☆RISH members. Shining Saotome shows up and announces that he scouted Cecil and will be now joining the Master Course. Through a tea talk between the ST☆RISH members and Cecil, Camus of QUARTET★NIGHT arrives, as he is assigned to be Cecil's mentor. However, Cecil has no interest in being an idol and only wishes to sing Haruka's songs. Camus, being annoyed by this, challenges Cecil and ST☆RISH to a training competition to demonstrate that there is more to singing songs and being an idol.
3'TRUE WING'April 18, 2013
Syo's dream of acting with his idol, Ryuya Hyuga, come true when he gets a role in the new Prince of Fights special. While the members of ST☆RISH think they've become full-fledged idols after releasing a CD and getting job offers, Shining Saotome tells them they are far from being true idols. Shining suggests that in order to become great idols, ST☆RISH must win the UtaPri Award; but that won't be easy at their level of experience. When filming for Prince of Fights begins, Syo is thrilled to be working with Hyuga. However, Hyuga blows off Syo's admiration for him, saying he needs to quit acting like an amateur now that he's a professional. Things go well until Syo is asked to jump from one platform to another at a great height, and while he has been cured of his acrophobia he fails to accomplish this - a crucial part of the show. Only later when Haruka brings him his change of clothes and ends up nearly falling over the ledge, does he finally make the jump to save her. The next day, when that scene is over and done with, Hyuga apologizes to Syo for not appreciating a fan, and comments that he is already a 'real man'.
4'Love Sakura'

Masato is invited to audition for the lead role in a historical play, Singing Swordsman of Justice. While everyone thinks this role is perfect for him, he takes the love scene in the script too seriously, saying there must be true love in order for a couple to embrace naturally. Even when ST☆RISH help him practice for the audition, he still can't pull off the love scene properly. Since Masato doesn't understand the true fundamentals of acting and performing, this poses a threat to him passing the audition and to ST☆RISH's chance of winning the UtaPri award. Meanwhile, Cecil is still struggling with his idol training, and also wonders what makes ST☆RISH so special to Haruka. Cecil suggests to Masato that he imagines the woman he has to embrace at the audition as the one he loves, and he contemplates it together with the words of his late grandfather, ultimately coming to a decision. He passes the audition with flying colors, much to the relief of ST☆RISH.
5'SMILE MAGIC'May 2, 2013
ST☆RISH is very impressed with how much Otoya has improved with his singing, and they believe he has been doing voice training without them knowing because he disappears sometimes. Otoya later goes to appear on a variety show along with Cecil. When Cecil is asked to do impressions on the show, Otoya is worried that he will mess up since he isn't familiar with Japanese pop culture; but Cecil impersonates Shining Saotome and it's a big hit! Later, Haruka gets lost on her way back to the agency and finds Otoya at a school. She finds out that he grew up there as an orphan and still goes to visit, which is why he's missing from the agency so often. The school is holding an annual bazaar with a haunted house, which Haruka and Otoya help out with. On the day of the bazaar no customers show up. When the kids start feeling down, Otoya tells them to cheer up and starts singing, and his song attract a crowd of customers.
6'Orange Rhapsody'

Ren is invited to be a model for the Japan Boys Collection fashion show. The show is sponsored by the Jinguji Group, which brings back unpleasant memories for Ren of how his brother, Seiichiro, made him become an idol to be a poster boy for the family business, and makes him think the show is just a way for the company to use him for their benefit. Haruka, Cecil and Tomochika attend the show, and not long into it there is a power outage. Ren attempts to calm down the audience with the song Haruka wrote for him. With help from Haruka and Seiichiro, Ren's song lights up the hearts of his audience. After the show, Ren reconnects with his brother to find out he didn't force Ren to become an idol just to benefit the Jinguji Group, but because he loved his songs.
7'Promise to Sirius'

Natsuki gets a job for a gravure lipstick ad, unaware that it was actually meant for Natsuki's other personality, Satsuki, being scouted after the events of the HAYATO concert. Syo and Haruka reveals to the rest of ST☆RISH the truth about Natsuki's split-personality. Unable to attend the shoot, Syo asks Haruka to go along with Natsuki, much to the latter's delight. On the way to the job, he shows her his finished lyrics to her song and confess his love for her. At the shoot, Natsuki feels discourage when he cannot become a wild and fierce character that the photographer wants him to be. On the roof later with Haruka, Natsuki takes off his glasses, accidentally turning himself into Satsuki. Satsuki voices his dislikeness for Haruka, claiming that she is only pretending to be kind to Natsuki and that he will protect Natsuki from getting hurt. Satsuki attempts to kiss Haruka once more, but is stopped by Syo, Otoya, and Tokiya's arrival. Recognizing Satsuki instantly, Syo, Otoya, and Tokiya, later joined by Ren and Masato, try to put Natsuki's glasses back on to return him to normal, but fail and are locked on the rooftop while Satsuki drags Haruka inside the building to take Natsuki's place during work. However, Haruka begs Satsuki to let Natsuki to do the shoot on his own. Agreeing, Satsuki takes Cecil's sunglasses to voluntarily revert himself back to Natsuki, and Natsuki performs brilliantly during the shoot, impressing ST☆RISH, Haruka, and Cecil. Later, Haruka gives Cecil a song she composed for him.
8'Fantasia of the Stars'

ST☆RISH, QUARTET★NIGHT, Haruka and Cecil take a vacation at the Shining Agency's resort house. While the seniors and juniors enjoy their time off, Haruka is busy trying to write a new ST☆RISH song, but with not much success. The ST☆RISH boys find Cecil singing the tune to his song from Haruka, and they are all happy that he finally gets to sing one of Haruka's songs like he wanted to. However, Cecil has become conflicted about what he really aspires to do ever since he entered the agency. On her way to dinner, Haruka finds Cecil sitting alone. He suddenly pulls her into an embrace, saying he can't hold back his feelings anymore. He confesses that he only ever wanted to make just her happy because he loves her, but realizes that he also wants to make other people happy as well. With that in mind, Cecil has decided to pursue becoming an idol. Haruka is thrilled by his choice and goes to tell everyone the news. Later that evening, Cecil prays to the Muse to give his song lyrics, and then sings the finished product, which draws ST☆RISH, Haruka and the seniors to where his is. ST☆RISH begins singing along with Cecil in perfect harmony, and Haruka realizes that she couldn't write a new song because it didn't include Cecil's voice before, thus she asks Cecil to become a member of ST☆RISH, to which he happily agrees. Not long after, Cecil receives a letter from the king of Agnapolis saying to return immediately and take over the throne.
9'We are ST☆RISH'May 30, 2013
Everyone is shocked to hear that Cecil has gone back to Agnapolis. While some think he might not return to Japan, others, especially Haruka, believe he will definitely come back. Haruka has also finished a new song for ST☆RISH to include Cecil's voice. The rest of ST☆RISH are excited to sing the new song, but can't without Cecil, so they begin writing the lyrics. Later, Shining Saotome makes a typical grand entrance along with Ringo and Ryuya to deliver the news that he's picked a new song for ST☆RISH from the ones he received previously, but Haruka insists he listens to the new song she wrote instead. However, knowing that Cecil is gone, Shining refuses to accept any new changes because ST☆RISH has been nominated for the UtaPri award and threatens to decline their nomination if anyone tries to object his decision. But the boys are firm in wanting to only sing with Cecil from now on. Just then, Cecil returns and insists that Shining listens to Haruka's new song, knowing he will regret it if he doesn't. ST☆RISH performs 'Maji Love 2000%' (Serious Love 2000%), and win Shining's approval to become a new seven member group.
10'CRYSTAL TIME'June 6, 2013
HE★VENS gets a formal introduction as they accept their nomination for the UtaPri award. Not only is HE★VENS favored to win the award, but their boss is longtime rival of Shining Saotome, Raging Ōtori. Shining makes the competition more interesting by proposing both groups sing songs written by the same composer, Haruka. Both Shining and Raging also threaten that the losing group will be disbanded. This makes Haruka very worried about the fate of ST☆RISH, but the boys just become motivated not to lose. Later, ST☆RISH and HE★VENS finally meet each other in person outside a recording studio. The HE★VENS boys don't take too kindly to ST☆RISH, but are admittedly very impressed by Haruka's song and want her to become their composer, much to ST☆RISH's dismay. Thus, a heated rivalry is underway. That evening, back at the Shining Agency, Tokiya is singing his finished song from Haruka by the lake when he notices Haruka walking alone, looking rather troubled.
11'Dreamer's Symphony'

The thought of ST☆RISH possibly being disbanded has made Haruka become determined to write a song that can beat anything, which causes the ST☆RISH boys to become very worried about her. Tokiya invites Haruka to listen to the song she gave him (Crystal Time), which he sang in an advertisement that is being played in the city. After the song finishes, Tokiya meets up with Haruka and takes her to a local festival. Haruka comments on how Tokiya's singing was different than usual in his song. He says that, because of her, he found his true potential and he would do anything to sing her songs so his voice could make people happy. It's then that Haruka realizes she lost sight of what was really important in writing songs, which was to make people happy. Then the rest of ST☆RISH meets up with the two and sing 'Dreamer's Symphony'. Haruka is moved by the beauty of the song and the boys's concern for her. She then promises to put all her feelings into writing music from now on.
12'HE★VENS GATE'June 20, 2013
ST☆RISH is busy preparing for the UtaPri Award show, but Cecil is having trouble learning choreography because he's used to only dancing the Agnadance of his home country. Syo offers to teach Cecil how to dance, surprising everyone since they never got along initially. During this time, the seniors all have different reactions to the progress their juniors have made in such a short time. Reiji is impressed with how far ST☆RISH has come and also feels inspired to do more group work as QUARTET★NIGHT. Ranmaru initially rejects Reiji's idea of working together more as he prefers to work alone, but then contemplates what it means to have friends and be a group. Ai becomes worried about whether ST☆RISH can win the UtaPri Award, and Reiji points out that it is unusual for Ai to worry about others. With that in mind, Ai wonder's why he suddenly feels this way since worrying about and believing in others is a new feeling to him. Camus notices that everyone has changed ever since they heard ST☆RISH sing at the camp grounds, but he tries to remain ignorant of the situation thinking it has nothing to do with him. On the day of the award show, Haruka runs into HE★VENS. Already confident that they will win, HE★VENS wants Haruka to give up on ST☆RISH and come with them, but Ranmaru stops them before they go any further. Before Haruka leaves, Ranmaru asks her what she thinks friends are, and she answers that they are people who feel each other's passion, exactly what Reiji said to him earlier about working as a group. The show begins with HE★VENS singing 'HE★VENS GATE', leaving everyone, even Haruka and ST☆RISH, in awe.
13'Serious Love 2000%'

After blowing everyone away way with their performance, HE★VENS announces that the competition is pointless, thinking they're going to win. Backstage, Raging Ōtori confronts Shining Saotome, thanking him for Haruka's impressive song. Saotome also thanks him for creating a wonderful arrangement out of her song, but that it lacked a special kind of wave: The Happy Pulse, something he's been researching for years. Meanwhile, Haruka is with ST☆RISH in their dressing room when HE★VENS show up in attempt to take her away, already convinced of their own victory. Haruka rejects them, saying only ST☆RISH can sings her song better than anyone. After lifting their spirits and hearing the audience chant for them, ST☆RISH go out and perform 'Maji Love 2000%' (Serious Love 2000%). Once finished, everyone at the concert becomes affected by the waves of The Happy Pulse. The votes are tallied and the winning group is ST☆RISH! Just as Raging Ōtori announces the dissolution of HE★VENS, ST☆RISH beg him to change his mind, saying there's no real winners or losers when it comes to music. Each senior and underclassmen unit gets a variety show skit: Otoya, Tokiya and Reiji work in a daycare; Ranmaru, Masato and Ren take a stroll through town; Natsuki, Sho and Ai are confronted with a test of courage and Camus and Cecil drink some tea and try pastries at a tea shop. All the seniors show their skills leaving the juniors in admiration and thinking about how they can improve themselves. Later on, the whole cast goes to the beach.

Natsuki and Otoya are made into a Cross Unit and are cast as the main characters in a rock opera. Natsuki is put to play the part of a hot-headed manly guy while Otoya has to learn to be collected and cool. Both consult with their respective members (Syo and Tokiya) hoping to get some advice from them but without much luck. It is then that they both realize that they have been looking at things the wrong way and shouldn't be so worried about completely changing themselves. With the help of their friends and Haruka, they are able perform a brand new song in the play.
04'Innocent Wind'April 25, 2015
Ai becomes the main character in a new film. He works along with Syo and Natsuki both left in awe at how perfectly he does everything, however, Ai begins to feel something has changed within him. Ai ends up overworking himself and becomes ill but refuses to rest resulting in him collapsing. Both Syo and Natsuki, along with Haruka, put Ai to rest and in the process learn that he is a robot. After explaining, the three help Ai to finish the film.
05'Code: T.V.U.'May 2, 2015
Syo, Ren and Cecil are made into a Cross Unit and are selected to be featured in a commercial for a mobile phone brand. Things head off to a rocky start with each member's conflicting ideas about what the theme for the commercial should be. They end up getting into a heated argument but realize that their fellow member's ideas were just as good as theirs. In the end, with help from Haruka and their friends, they are able to come up with the perfect theme for the commercial and Haruka's new song.

Camus is chosen as the main act in the inauguration of the Shining Tower. Haruka, hoping to learn more about Camus to write him a new song, ends up working as his assistant. Although the tasks are difficult, Haruka does not give up determined to see a side to Camus in which he can do something earnestly seeing as he always does everything perfectly but without being earnest. Haruka's feelings are able to reach Camus and he performs his new song at the inauguration.

Ranmaru has decided to leave rock music as a way to move from his past and focus on his new life as a QUARTET★NIGHT member. Everyone opposes saying that rock is his life but he refuses to listen. Due to a past experience, Ranmaru is afraid of making the same mistakes again with his new found band members but Haruka teaches him that his love for rock and his band can be balanced without giving up on either.

Tokiya and Masato are set in a Cross Unit and work with each other in order to write lyrics for Haruka's song. Everyone thinks they are a perfect pair and look forward to their new song, but with them being the last to perform and everyone having high expectations, the pressure gets to them and they are unable to come up with any good lyrics. They try many things to be able to focus and relax but to no avail. Haruka then comes to them with some food revealing that everyone just wants them to do their best and that they are thinking about them. This gives Tokiya and Masato the encouragement they need to write the lyrics and perform their song.

Haruka Nanami (七海 春歌Nanami Haruka)
Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro (anime)
Haruka is a 15-year-old girl whose name and class can be selected by the player. She enrolls into Saotome Academy to pursue her dream of becoming a music composer and create a song for her idol, Hayato, but she eventually becomes the sole producer for Starish. In the anime, Haruka has lived with her grandmotherand has no music experience prior to enrolling into Saotome Academy.

STARISH[edit]

STARISH (stylized as ST☆RISH) is a Japanese idolboy band composed of students from Saotome Academy. Beginning in the second game, Uta no Prince-sama: Debut and the anime, the students were assigned to the group, with Haruka as their producer. Each member serves as possible love interests for Haruka, depending on whether the player decides to join Class A or Class S. The group's name is an acronym of the members' names. Initially starting out with six, Cecil is added to the group at the end of the first game and the anime's second season, Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%.

Otoya Ittoki (一十木 音也Ittoki Otoya)
Voiced by: Takuma Terashima
Otoya is a student in Class A. He's a friendly and positive person who enjoys singing. He shares a room with Tokiya. Otoya is an orphan, as his mother supposedly died in a plane crash, and he has never met his father. Otoya decided to become an idol because he heard his father was one. He plays the guitar.
Tokiya Ichinose (一ノ瀬 トキヤIchinose Tokiya)
Voiced by: Mamoru Miyano
Tokiya is a student in Class S who he bears a strong resemblance to Haruka's idol, Hayato. Tokiya claims to be Hayato's identical twin brother and seems to bear a complex from being in his brother's shadow. He appears to be cold and aloof, as well as being a perfectionist. Later on, Tokiya reveals he is Hayato, having enrolled into Saotome Academy to debut as himself from despising his image as Hayato. He believes his voice is his strongest instrument, so his musical specialty is his vocals, although he can basically play with almost any instrument.
Ren Jinguji (神宮寺 レンJingūji Ren)
Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe
Ren is a student in Class S. He is the third son of the Jingūji family. He is flirtatious and affectionately calls Haruka 'lady' and 'little lamb.' He, Masato and Ranmaru were childhood friends because they were all heirs to rich corporations, but stopped talking to each other after acknowledging their family status. As a child, his mother was an idol but passed away, causing his father to hide her work; however, Ren found one dedicated to him, inspiring him to become an artist. He plays the saxophone.
Masato Hijirikawa (聖川 真斗Hijirikawa Masato)
Voiced by: Kenichi Suzumura
Masato is a student in Class A. Raised in a strict, traditional environment, he is the oldest son and heir to the Hijirikawa Group. He, Ranmaru and Ren were childhood friends because they were all 'heirs to rich corporations.' He has a strained relationship with his father due to the fact that he has chosen to become an idol rather than the head of the Hijrikawa family. Masato is serious and has a conservative way of thinking, which causes him to clash with Ren at times. He plays the piano.
Natsuki Shinomiya (四ノ宮 那月Shinomiya Natsuki)
Voiced by: Kisho Taniyama
Natsuki is a student in Class A. He has an extreme fondness for cute and small things, leading him to take a liking to Haruka and tease Syo. Natsuki has a split personality named Satsuki Shinomiya (四ノ宮 砂月Shinomiya Satsuki) who appears when he takes his glasses off; as Satsuki, he is violent and cruel, but is more openly musically talented. While Natsuki is unaware of Satsuki at first, he remembers his actions later on in the series. He plays the viola.
Syo Kurusu (来栖 翔Kurusu Shō)
Voiced by: Hiro Shimono
Syo is a student in Class S. Much to his chagrin, he has a short stature, but he is energetic, confident, and passionate. He idolizes Ryuya Hyuga and hopes to become like him. Syo has an identical twin brother, Kaoru, and in the game, Syo's heart condition continuously causes him to worry about him. In the anime, Syo briefly has a fear of heights, which is later remedied with help from the others and Mr. Saotome. He plays the violin.
Cecil Aijima (愛島 セシルAijima Seshiru)
Voiced by: Kousuke Toriumi
Cecil is the prince of Agnapolis who was cursed to turn into a black cat, who Haruka named Kuppuru. While he was a cat, he fell in love with Haruka. In the first game, he joins Saotome Academy after being freed of his curse. In Debut and the anime's second season, he is scouted by Saotome to be in the idol course. He is very cheerful, sensitive and later become the model of modesty and respect. His instrument specialty is flute.

Quartet Night[edit]

Secret games movie online. Quartet Night (stylized as QUARTET NIGHT) is a veteran idol group from STARISH's company who first appears in the 2013 game Uta no Prince-sama: All Star and the anime's second season, Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%. The group acts as mentors to STARISH. The members are represented by the colors dark red for Ranmaru, lilac for Ai, emerald green for Reiji, and light blue for Camus.

Reiji Kotobuki (寿 嶺二Kotobuki Reiji)
Voiced by: Showtaro Morikubo[1]
Reiji is 25 years old and becomes Otoya and Tokiya's mentor. He has a light-hearted personality and nicknames his friends. He also enjoys pulling pranks, especially on Ranmaru, who is the easiest target. Despite all this, he can become very serious and competitive when there is tension between him and his opponents. He plays the maracas.
Ai Mikaze (美風 藍Mikaze Ai)
Voiced by: Shouta Aoi[1]
Ai is a 15-year-old robot who becomes Syo and Natsuki's mentor. He's very apt and hardworking, and often act as the mediator whenever both Camus and Ranmaru argue about. He is very strict when it comes to his teaching, as his previous students quit after one month of training under him. His design is based in Aine Kisaragi, a former idol who disappeared years ago. He plays the synthesizer.
Ranmaru Kurosaki (黒崎 蘭丸Kurosaki Ranmaru)
Voiced by: Tatsuhisa Suzuki[1]
Ranmaru is 22 years old and becomes Masato and Ren's mentor. He loves rock and roll music, cats and cooking, and can be bribed by the food that Reiji's family shop sells. In the game, he, Masato and Ren were childhood friends because they were all heirs to rich corporations, but Ranmaru's father lost all their fortune after he was betrayed by a colleague and died, so Ranmaru became an idol to pay the debt his father had caused. He plays the bass.
Camus (カミュKamyu)
Voiced by: Tomoaki Maeno[1]
Camus is a 21-year-old count from Permafrost who becomes Cecil's mentor in the anime. He appears to be two-faced and has a different on or off screen attitude. Camus gets into arguments with Ranmaru frequently and has no intentions to get friendly with people outside of work obligations. Camus takes a lot of notes and does a lot of research. He plays the cello.

HEAVENS[edit]

HEAVENS (stylized as HE★VENS) is the rival idol group of STARISH who briefly appears in the anime's second season, Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love 2000%, before being established as recurring characters in the third season, Uta no Prince-sama: Legend Star. The group's name is an acronym of the members' names.

Eiichi Ōtori (鳳映一Ōtori Eīchi)
Voiced by: Hikaru Midorikawa
Eiichi is the leader of HEAVENS, and his father, Raging Ōtori, is the group's manager. He wants Haruka to be their producer and acts intimidating towards STARISH.
Yamato Hyuga (日向 大和Hyuga Yamato)

Yamato is Ryuya Hyuga's energetic younger brother.
Van Kiryuin (桐生院ヴァンKiryuin Van)

Van has a flirtatious personality.

Nagi is the youngest member of the group, being 13 years old. He tends to get a lot of compliments from fans and acts childish because of his cute appearance. He is called 'Cutie Nagi' by fans. Despite his cute and innocent demeanor, he has a hostile personality.

Kira has a serious personality and taciturn, leading to Nagi speaking for him.

Tomochika is Haruka's best friend, classmate, and roommate. Her dream is to become a famous idol. She plays the electone and is 15 years old at the start of the series.
Kaoru Kurusu (来栖 薫Kurusu Kaoru)
Voiced by: Yūki Kaji
Kaoru is Syo's younger twin brother. He attends Saotome Academy's sister school and studies to become a doctor.
Shining Saotome (シャイニング早乙女Shainingu Saotome)
Voiced by: Norio Wakamoto
Shining Saotome is the eccentric principal of the Saotome Academy, a prestigious idol school. He was an famous idol when young, popular for the song 'Owing to Love'. He has a habit of spying on students and popping up at random times to give advice. In Debut, it's revealed that he's Otoya's father, but covered that fact to avoid scandals. His 14-year-old self, using his real name Mitsuo Saotome (早乙女 光男Saotome Mitsuo), appears as a love interest in Amazing Aria. His instrument is the bongo.
Ringo Tsukimiya (月宮 林檎Tsukimiya Ringo)
Voiced by: Yuuichi Nakamura
Ringo is Class A's teacher. He is a male idol who crossdresses as a female because of his agency, and his biggest dream is to perform as a male idol. He plays the clarinet.
Ryuya Hyuga (日向 龍也Hyūga Ryūya)
Voiced by: Kouji Yusa
Ryuya is Class S's teacher. He is an actor who Syo idolizes. He was formerly an idol, but he quit after his former partner, Haruki, died in a car accident. He plays the trumpet.
